Residency & Training
Medical dermatology plays a critical role in the diagnosis and management of skin diseases with systemic implications. Whether in hospitals, specialty clinics, or academic medical centers, physicians trained in both dermatology and internal medicine are uniquely equipped to treat patients whose dermatologic conditions are part of a broader medical picture.
As part of its mission to improve care for patients with complex skin diseases, foster research in medical dermatology, and ensure expertise in both community and academic settings, the Medical Dermatology Society supports early-career physicians who are pursuing advanced clinical and research training.
This section offers information on combined internal medicine–dermatology residency programs and other training pathways that reflect MDS’s long-standing commitment to developing leaders in medical dermatology.
